Murphy Receives Communications Award
Murphy, Texas – June 15, 2022. On June 09, 2022, the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO) held their annual awards ceremony in Houston, Texas. The City of Murphy was pleased to receive an Award of Honor. This year follows up a strong campaign in 2021 where the city took home two best of state awards. The TAMI awards recognize outstanding communication by Texas communities in a variety of categories from marketing, special events, media relations, and websites. Judging is conducted by out-of-state sister organizations with expertise in communications and municipal government.
Murphy received an Award of Honor for the “2021 Annual Report on Economic Development” under the Print Report category for cities under 100,000.
“It’s a high honor to be recognized statewide for our work communicating with council and residents. This a great accomplishment for our Economic Development staff,” stated Mike Castro, City Manager. “The TAMI award recognizes the creativity of staff and reaffirms that we are headed in the right direction with our communication initiatives.”
