CITY STAFF

Jared was selected as the Director of Community & Economic Development in February 2017. Prior to joining Murphy, he had 20 years of experience in a variety of planning and community development positions., most recently as Director of Development Services for the City of Victoria. Jared holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Urban Planning, both from Texas A&M University in College Station.

Laura was hired as City Planner in February 2021. She brings prior experience in revitalization initiatives from the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth, as well as from the private sector. Laura holds a Bachelor of Science in Geography from Texas State University and a Master of Urban Planning from Texas A&M University in College Station.

Bailey joined the city in 2015 and is responsible for marketing and communications for both the city and EDC. She is the creative personality behind the Murphy Unites shop and eat local campaign. Bailey holds a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at Dallas.
