Murphy ranked the highest of any North Texas suburb according to a report from personal finance website GoBankingRates.com.
The study gathered data from more than 1,200 suburbs near major cities, comparing key factors such as their violent and property crime rates, the percentage of households with children, the median list prices for homes and the basic cost of living. Murphy has the second-highest proportion of family households with children in the study, at 67.1%, making it a popular place to raise kids.
