Murphy Marketplace Center Expands

Murphy, Texas – March 8, 2021.  The City of Murphy and Phillips Edison & Company are excited to announce the commencement of construction of a new commercial/ retail building at Murphy Marketplace. The 8,637 square foot building is located at the northeast corner of FM 544 and North Murphy Road. Designed to accommodate up to six tenants, it includes a drive-thru for a future restaurant.

“A new investment towards Murphy’s tax base is a welcome sight. I am excited to see the new retail options and expanded services this site will bring to our city,” stated Mayor Scott Bradley.

Phillips Edison, owner of Murphy Marketplace, has been working to bring this project to completion for over a year now.

“Expanding Murphy Marketplace and bringing new neighbors, what we call our tenants, to the community is something we are very excited about, and we appreciate the City’s support through this process. We look forward to sharing updated on our progress as we advance this important project, said KC Bills, Vice Presidents of Portfolio Management and Development for Phillips Edison.

Phillips Edison purchased Murphy Marketplace in 2016 and has diligently worked to fill existing spaces with quality tenants that offer area residents with choices to shop and dine locally. This latest investment is anticipated to add $1.6 Million to the tax rolls. Construction is expected to be completed in Summer 2021.
